Beat competitors with Runway Gen 4.5

Professional video AI finally works
Hey AI Enthusiast,
Runway just dropped Gen 4.5.
It's an AI video model that beats both Google and OpenAI on the Video Arena leaderboard.
Number one spot. Above Google's Veo 3 and OpenAI's Sora 2 Pro.
What makes this interesting? Runway did it with 100 people. Not thousands. Not trillion-dollar budgets.
"We managed to out-compete trillion-dollar companies with a team of 100 people," CEO Cristóbal Valenzuela told CNBC.
Gen 4.5 generates high-definition videos from text prompts. It understands physics, human motion, camera movements, and cause and effect.
The model was codenamed "David" internally. David and Goliath reference. Pretty fitting.
But the real Tool Tuesday story isn't about video generation.
It's about a new AI marketing tool from Google that most people are sleeping on.
But first, today's prompt (then the tool that builds your entire brand...)

🤖 Tool Tuesday - Google's AI Pomelli 🤖
Google's Pomelli: Your AI Marketing Department
Google Labs and DeepMind released Pomelli.
It's an AI-powered marketing tool that acts like a virtual marketing department for small businesses and creators.
No design team needed. No agency retainer. No brand guidelines document.
Just your website URL.
How It Actually Works
The workflow is dead simple. Three steps:
Step 1: Paste Your Website URL
That's it. Just your website link.
Pomelli scans your site and builds what they call "Business DNA." It analyzes your brand tone, color palette, fonts, image style, existing logos.
Basically reverse-engineers your brand identity from what's already live.
Step 2: Pick a Campaign
Pomelli suggests campaign ideas based on your business. Holiday sale posts. Product launch assets. Social content series.
Or you give it a custom prompt: "Create Instagram posts for our new collection drop."
Step 3: Generate and Download
Pomelli creates platform-ready marketing assets. Social posts. Ad creatives. Banners. Copy. All matching your brand DNA.
You can tweak text, layout, or images before downloading. Then you're done.
Website URL → Full brand marketing kit in minutes.
What This Tool Does Well
Automated branding. You don't manually build brand guidelines. Pomelli infers everything from your existing site.
Saves massive time. What takes designers hours happens in minutes. For free during beta.
No design skills required. The interface handles generation and editing. You just review and adjust.
Consistent brand identity. Every asset matches. Same tone, colors, typography. This matters more than people think.
Perfect for small teams. If you're a solo founder or small business without a marketing budget, this levels the field.
The Limitations
Pomelli launched October 28, 2025. It's still experimental. Here's what to watch:
Limited availability. Only US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. English only. Beta access.
No auto-publishing. You generate assets, then manually download and upload them. No direct integration with social platforms or scheduling tools yet.
Can feel generic. Because it's automated, outputs might lack creative originality. Reviews mention "limited originality" as a common issue.
Depends on your website. If your site has minimal text or few images, Pomelli struggles to extract clear brand DNA. Garbage in, garbage out.
Still evolving. It's a beta tool. Features will change. Not a full replacement for an agency or advanced design workflows.
Who This Tool Is Actually For
You run a small or medium business without a marketing team.
You need to generate branded assets fast. Product launches. Promos. Regular social posting.
You want consistent brand identity but don't have budget for a designer or brand kit.
You value speed and cost efficiency. Frequent drops, social updates, ad campaigns.
The Real Use Case
Pomelli works best as a "first draft builder."
Generate multiple versions of posts or ads quickly. Then refine manually for premium output.
It accelerates campaign rollout speed without sacrificing brand cohesion.
But if your brand identity and voice are central to what you do, human creativity still matters. A lot.
Use Pomelli for volume. Then add the human layer for quality.
Why This Matters Now
Google's betting that small businesses want speed and consistency over perfection.
They're probably right.
Most small brands struggle with two things: creating enough content and keeping it on-brand.
Pomelli solves both.
It's free during beta. Limited countries. English only.
But if you're in one of those markets, test it now before it gets locked behind a paywall.

Runway Gen 4.5: The Full Story
Runway has been building toward this since 2018. They earned a spot on CNBC's Disruptor 50 list this year.
The company conducts AI research and builds video and world models. Models trained on video and observational data to better reflect how the physical world actually works.
Their customers include media organizations, studios, brands, designers, and students.
Valuation: $3.55 billion according to PitchBook. Investors include General Atlantic, Baillie Gifford, Nvidia, and Salesforce Ventures.
Gen 4.5 holds the number one spot on Video Arena's leaderboard. That's an independent benchmark maintained by Artificial Analysis.
How it works: People compare two model outputs without knowing which companies made them. They vote for their favorite. Rankings emerge from thousands of these comparisons.
Google's Veo 3 is second. OpenAI's Sora 2 Pro is seventh.
Valenzuela said Gen 4.5 was "an overnight success that took like seven years."
The model understands physics, human motion, camera movements, and cause and effect. These are the things most AI video models struggle with.
Gen 4.5 is rolling out gradually. Available to all Runway customers by end of week.
It'll be available through Runway's platform, its API, and through some partner integrations.
Valenzuela said this is "the first of several major releases" they have planned.
What This Means
The AI video generation war is heating up fast.
It's not just about quality anymore. It's about understanding motion, physics, and narrative flow.
Runway proved you don't need trillion-dollar budgets to compete at the frontier. You need focus and diligence.
100 people beat Google and OpenAI on the benchmark that matters.
That's the story.

Over to You...
Would you trust AI-generated video for your brand, or does it still need human oversight?
