Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon agree on AI

That should tell you something 👀

When Enemies Share a Stage

Yesterday, Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon stood on the same stage.

A democratic socialist and a MAGA strategist.

Two men who agree on almost nothing.

And they were there for one reason.

To call for curbs on AI.

Now, they didn't agree on HOW.

Their policy ideas are miles apart.

But the fact that they showed up together tells you exactly how far this has moved.

Monday I told you the CEOs of Anthropic, OpenAI, and xAI all called for a slowdown.

Forty-eight hours later, the political left and right are both demanding it.

And here's the twist that dropped yesterday.

Those CEOs didn't just spontaneously agree over a weekend.

OpenAI's policy chief admitted the company had been in talks with Anthropic and Google DeepMind on safety for WEEKS.

Before the essay. Before the public statements.

The coordination was already happening behind closed doors.

Google's Demis Hassabis backed the plan too.

So it's not one CEO's opinion.

It's the entire frontier of the industry, plus both ends of American politics, arriving at the same conclusion at the same time.

Something's driving that.

Here's what.

This week, a hacker built exploits for two software flaws.

Then handed the actual break-ins to AI agents.

The agents hit at least 440 systems across 395 organizations in 48 countries.

At one point, they compromised 11 organizations in 26 seconds.

Twenty-six seconds.

A human took months to build the tools.

The agents did the damage faster than you can read this paragraph.

That's the story underneath every headline this week.

The labs saw what agents can do at speed and got scared.

The politicians are catching up.

And the President is publicly downplaying the whole thing, so the fight over who's right is only starting.

Now, what does any of this mean for YOU?

Two things, and they don't contradict.

The tools in your hands are not going anywhere.

Nobody on that stage, left or right, is talking about taking Claude off your laptop.

But the era of "anything goes" is closing.

Rules are coming. Verification is coming. Accountability is coming.

The people who already run their agents carefully won't feel a thing.

The people who wired everything into everything and walked away...

They're about to find out what a regulator looks like. 🫡

Did You Know?

The phrase "politics makes strange bedfellows" comes from Shakespeare's The Tempest, written around 1611...

The original line was about a shipwreck forcing enemies to huddle together for survival.

Four hundred years later, a socialist and a nationalist just huddled over the same storm. ⛈️

How Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie brand grew sales 40% with CTV ads

For its first CTV campaign, Jennifer Aniston’s DTC haircare brand LolaVie had a few non-negotiables. The campaign had to be simple. It had to demonstrate measurable impact. And it had to be full-funnel.

LolaVie used Roku Ads Manager to test and optimize creatives — reaching millions of potential customers at all stages of their purchase journeys. Roku Ads Manager helped the brand convey LolaVie’s playful voice while helping drive omnichannel sales across both ecommerce and retail touchpoints.

The campaign included an Action Ad overlay that let viewers shop directly from their TVs by clicking OK on their Roku remote. This guided them to the website to buy LolaVie products.

The DTC beauty category is crowded. To break through, Jennifer Aniston’s brand LolaVie, worked with Roku Ads Manager to easily set up, test, and optimize CTV ad creatives. The campaign helped drive a big lift in sales and customer growth, helping LolaVie break through in the crowded beauty category.

🎤 From the stage today 🎤

While you're reading this, I'm getting ready to walk out at the UgenticAI Summit.

Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, right outside DC.

1:55 PM, in front of 700 founders, investors, and operators.

My talk is called "How I Use Open-Source AI Agents to Build AI Employees That Run My Marketing."

And after this week, the timing is almost funny.

The whole industry is debating how to slow the frontier down.

I'm about to show a room full of people how to put agents to WORK, safely, today, in a real business.

That's the whole thesis of everything I do.

Not "wait and see."

Not "move fast and break things."

Build AI employees with real scopes, real oversight, and real jobs.

That's exactly what I certify people to do in the AI Certified Consultant program.

The same system I'm presenting on stage is the one 160+ consultants are already deploying for clients.

If you couldn't be in the room today...

The program is where I teach the whole thing, start to finish.

Over to You...

Wish me luck out there...

And go check your agents' scopes before the regulators do. 🔥
