Figma's new OpenAI integration eliminates the designer-developer bottleneck

Ready for instant design iterations?

Hi ,

Figma just announced integration with OpenAI's Codex.

Lets users create and tweak designs from within coding environments. Move between Figma and Codex easily using Figma's MCP server.

Available now for Figma users.

First let's cover your ChatGPT-to-Gemini migration prompt and why email-based AI assistants are changing how work gets done. Then what Figma's Codex integration means for design-to-code workflows.

πŸ”₯ Prompt of the Day πŸ”₯

Master Context Synthesis: Use Gemini

Migrating from ChatGPT to Gemini? Transfer your context cleanly.

Run this in Gemini with your ChatGPT export pasted in.

The Prompt:

"Act as an expert AI systems architect specializing in helping professionals get maximum value from Google Gemini through precise context-setting and workflow configuration.

I am migrating from ChatGPT to Gemini. Below is a raw export of my memory, projects, and preferences from ChatGPT. It may be unpolished, redundant, or loosely organized.

[PASTE YOUR CHATGPT EXPORT HERE]

Please synthesize this into a clean, structured Master Context Document formatted specifically for use in Gemini. The document should include:

  1. Who I Am β€” A concise professional identity statement (3-5 sentences)

  2. My Business & Work β€” What I do, who I serve, and how I operate

  3. My AI Interaction Preferences β€” Exactly how I want Gemini to respond, format answers, and handle ambiguity

  4. Active Projects β€” Organized list of current initiatives with brief status notes

  5. Recurring Use Cases β€” Tasks I will bring to Gemini repeatedly (format as reusable request types)

  6. Key Vocabulary & Context β€” Terms, platforms, clients, or frameworks I use that Gemini should know

  7. Google Workspace Connections β€” Note any Gmail, Docs, Drive, Sheets, or Calendar workflows I should connect Gemini to

  8. What I Don't Want β€” Behaviors, formats, or responses I want Gemini to avoid

  9. Priority Quick-Wins β€” The 3 things I most want Gemini to help me with immediately

Make this document tight, scannable, and ready to use as a Gem instruction set or as an opening context-setter for new conversations.

Ask me any questions you have."

After running: Review output. Edit anything off. Turn it into your Gem configuration.

Read AI's Ada: Email-Based Digital Twin

Read AI just launched Ada, email-based AI assistant they're calling a "digital twin."

Manages schedules. Answers questions. Replies to out-of-office emails. Handles tasks around the clock.

How It Works

Send email to [email protected]. Write "Get me started." Ada configures itself.

Then it handles tasks through email.

What Ada Does

Schedule meetings: Ask Ada to find time with someone. It replies to other person with your availability. Other person says those times don't work? Ada responds with new options.

Ada has calendar access but doesn't reveal nature of your meetings to others.

Answer questions: Uses company knowledge base, prior meeting discussions, public internet searches.

Example: "Ada, can you provide update on how we tracking for Q1 goals?"

Prepare responses: Someone asks question in email thread. Ada prepares response for you. Helps refine before sending.

Doesn't reveal sensitive information without permission.

How Ada Learns

Doesn't rely on MCPs (model context protocols).

Builds knowledge graph based on meeting data and connected services. More contextual answers than standard AI.

Over time, takes proactive actions. You mention follow-up item in meeting? Ada asks you to set it up after meeting with contextual data.

CEO David Shim: "When you bring on new employee, you train them. When you add Ada to your workflow and connect more services, it starts to ramp up and handle more tasks for you."

Availability

Currently: Email only.

Soon: Slack and Teams.

Read AI Context

Over 5 million monthly active users. Plans to grow to 10 million.

50,000 sign-ups every day.

100,000 users consume Read AI content (meeting summaries) without creating accounts.

60% of users outside U.S. Revenue split roughly equally between U.S. and international.

Raised over $81 million in funding.

Recent Features

Last year: Search Copilot for knowledge discovery.

Last month: Update CRM software, send custom emails from meeting reports, stay updated on topics based on internal and web knowledge.

Competitive Context

Other meeting notetakers adding similar capabilities.

Granola: Added "recipes" (repeatable prompts) to surface knowledge from meeting data.

Quill: Came out of stealth with $6.5M funding. Connects to Linear, Notion, CRMs. Aims to automate tasks.

Why This Matters

Email-based AI assistant removes adoption friction.

No new app to learn. No new interface. Just email.

You already check email constantly. Ada lives where you already work.

Digital twin concept: AI that knows your context, handles tasks, represents you when you're unavailable.

Not chatbot. Not tool. Extension of you.

What This Means

If you use Read AI, you can add Ada to handle scheduling and questions via email.

If you run meetings constantly, Ada reduces back-and-forth on scheduling.

If you want AI assistant that doesn't require learning new platform, email-based approach removes barrier.

Ada doesn't replace you. It handles routine tasks so you focus on work that requires judgment.

Check it out πŸ‘‰here.

Did You Know?

Scientists using AI developed by Google DeepMind identified a previously unknown protein interaction critical to the survival of certain cancer cells, uncovering molecular dependencies that are nearly impossible to detect through conventional laboratory methods.

Figma Integrates OpenAI's Codex

Figma announced integration with OpenAI's Codex, letting users create and tweak designs from coding environments.

Comes one week after Figma integrated Anthropic's Claude Code.

Available now for Figma users.

How It Works

Integration uses Figma's MCP (Model Context Protocol) server.

Start working with design in Figma or code in Codex. Move between platforms easily.

Previously: Users could bring details from Figma design files, Figma Make, or FigJam into Codex for code-based implementation.

Now: Bidirectional workflow. Design to code. Code to design.

What Changed

Engineers can iterate visually without leaving their flow.

Designers can work closer to real implementation without becoming full-time coders.

"Teams can build on their best ideas β€” not just their first idea β€” by combining the best of code with the creativity, collaboration, and craft that comes with Figma's infinite canvas," Loredana Crisan, Figma's chief design officer, said.

Codex Context

OpenAI launched Codex as command-line coding assistant last year. Competed with Anthropic's Claude Code.

Later built Codex into ChatGPT.

Earlier this month: Launched dedicated MacOS app for Codex.

MacOS app: Downloaded 1 million times within first week.

Released two new Codex models days after MacOS launch.

Over 1 million users using Codex weekly.

Figma Partnership History

Figma prominent partner for OpenAI.

One of first companies to launch app in ChatGPT (October 2025).

Now integrated both Codex (OpenAI) and Claude Code (Anthropic).

Why This Matters

This closes design-to-code gap.

Designers don't hand off static mockups. They work in environment engineers can pull from directly.

Engineers don't interpret designs. They iterate on designs themselves without leaving code environment.

For teams: Fewer handoff meetings. Less "wait, what did you mean here?" back-and-forth. Faster iteration.

For individuals: Don't need to choose "designer" or "engineer" path. Work across both.

What This Means

If you use Figma, you can now connect Codex for code-based implementation.

If you use Codex, you can pull Figma designs directly into your coding environment.

If you manage design-engineering teams, this reduces friction between disciplines.

Design and code becoming same workflow. Not separate handoffs.
