Google's new security stops AI agents from overspending

Chrome's AI security framework launched

Hey AI Enthusiast,

Google just detailed how it's securing Chrome's upcoming agentic features.

AI agents that book tickets, shop, and take actions on your behalf.

These features were previewed in September. They're rolling out in the coming months.

But agentic capabilities come with serious security risks. Data leaks. Unauthorized purchases. Access to sensitive sites.

Google's solution? Observer models that scrutinize every action before it happens. User consent for sensitive tasks. Strict restrictions on what sites agents can access.

The tech includes a "User Alignment Critic" using Gemini that checks if planned actions actually serve your goal. If not, it forces the planner model to rethink.

This is the security infrastructure needed before AI agents can safely operate in browsers.

But the real Tool Tuesday story isn't about browser security.

It's about a tool that's already generated over 1 billion ad creatives for major brands.

But first, today's prompt (then the tool replacing creative teams...)

🤖 Tool Tuesday 🤖

AdCreative.ai: The Tool Generating 1 Billion Ad Creatives

Over 4.2 million users. Over 1 billion ad creatives generated.

AdCreative.ai is an AI-powered advertising tool that creates ad creatives, copy, videos, and product photoshoots at scale.

Brands like Durex, Philips, Haagen-Dazs, and Reckitt use it.

The claim? Up to 14x better conversion and click-through rates compared to manually designed ads.

What AdCreative.ai Actually Does

Most ad creation tools give you templates. AdCreative.ai analyzes your brand and generates conversion-optimized creatives from scratch.

Three-step process:

Step 1: Import your brand - Upload logo, colors, fonts. The AI pulls your brand style in one click.

Step 2: Select ad type - Pick your format. The AI adapts your brand into any ad style you need.

Step 3: Generate ads - The AI produces conversion-focused creatives faster than writing a headline.

Every creative gets a conversion score out of 100 before you even use it.

The Features That Actually Matter

Ad creatives for any platform - Banners, videos, text ads, stories. Any size, any platform.

Product photoshoots from simple photos - Upload a basic product photo. AI generates professional-grade e-commerce photography in seconds. Turn a 12-week turnaround into 3 days.

Video ads from product photos - World's first Product Videoshoot AI model. Upload a product photo. Generate multiple scroll-stopping video options optimized for results.

Creative Insights AI - Connect your ad accounts. AI analyzes your creatives and tells you what's working. Average CTR in your brand category. Best-performing colors. Top creatives. Insights you won't find anywhere else.

Competitor Insights - See what competitors are running. Analyze their creative strategies.

Text Generator AI - Generates high-converting ad copy and headlines using proven copywriting methodologies.

Unlimited stock images - Access to 100+ million free stock images included.

Why It's Different From Other Tools

AdCreative.ai doesn't use templates. It uses machine learning trained on high-conversion ad data.

The AI model learns from your connected ad accounts. It fine-tunes outputs based on what actually converts for your brand.

Most design tools make pretty ads. AdCreative.ai makes ads that perform.

One user: "Since I started using AdCreative.ai, my campaigns have seen a substantial boost in performance."

Another: "AdCreative has allowed me to run a fairly easy ad campaign for my e-commerce brand. The time it has saved me is huge and the best part is I don't have to sacrifice quality for efficiency."

Who This Tool Is For

Small businesses without design teams. Generate professional ad creatives without hiring designers.

E-commerce brands. Turn product photos into professional photoshoots and video ads in seconds.

Agencies managing multiple clients. 10+ brands, multiple users, high volume creative production.

Startups testing ad creatives fast. Generate dozens of variations, see conversion scores, download what works.

The Limitations

AI-generated ads still need review. Conversion scores are predictions, not guarantees.

Brand voice in copy might need editing. The text generator is good but generic without customization.

Video quality depends on input. Better product photos = better AI-generated videos.

Learning curve for advanced features. Creative Insights and Competitor Insights require connected ad accounts and time to analyze.

Why This Matters Now

Ad creative production is a bottleneck for most businesses.

Hiring designers costs money. Turnaround times slow campaigns. Testing multiple variations becomes expensive.

AdCreative.ai collapses that timeline and cost.

What used to take a designer 4 hours now takes 2 minutes. What used to cost $2,000 per product photoshoot now costs the price of your monthly subscription.

The brands winning with paid ads right now aren't the ones with the biggest budgets. They're the ones testing the most creative variations the fastest.

AdCreative.ai makes high-volume creative testing accessible.

How Google Is Securing Browser Agents

Browsers are adding agentic features. AI that books tickets, shops for items, takes actions on your behalf.

But these capabilities introduce security risks: data leaks, unauthorized purchases, access to sensitive banking or medical sites.

Google detailed its security approach for Chrome's agentic features announced in September.

User Alignment Critic

Google built a User Alignment Critic using Gemini. It scrutinizes action items created by the planner model.

If the critic thinks planned tasks don't serve the user's goal, it forces the planner model to rethink the strategy.

The critic model only sees metadata of proposed actions—not actual web content.

Agent Origin Sets

To prevent agents from accessing disallowed or untrustworthy sites, Google uses Agent Origin Sets.

These restrict models to:

  • Read-only origins: Data Gemini can consume content from

  • Read-writeable origins: Where agents can click or type

Example: On a shopping site, product listings are relevant. Banner ads aren't. The agent only accesses relevant content.

"This delineation enforces that only data from a limited set of origins is available to the agent," Google explained. "This bounds the threat vector of cross-origin data leaks."

URL Investigation

Google uses another observer model to investigate URLs before navigation.

This prevents navigation to harmful model-generated URLs.

User Consent for Sensitive Tasks

Google hands control to users for sensitive actions:

  • Navigating to sites with banking or medical data requires user approval

  • Sites requiring sign-in ask permission to use the password manager

  • The agent's model never has exposure to password data

  • Users must approve before making purchases or sending messages

Why This Infrastructure Matters

AI agents in browsers are coming. The security model needs to exist before rollout.

Without these safeguards:

  • Agents could navigate to phishing sites

  • Data could leak across origins

  • Purchases could happen without consent

  • Sensitive information could be exposed

Google's approach: multiple observer models, strict origin controls, user consent gates.

This is the infrastructure layer needed before agentic browsing becomes standard.

Other browsers experimenting with agents will need similar security frameworks.

The race isn't just to ship agentic features first. It's to ship them securely.
