GPT-6 dropped. Don't switch yet.
Two scoreboards already disagree about it π
The Rumor Pile Finally Paid Out

Remember the rumor pile from August?
"GPT-6 rumored within weeks. No date. No confirmation."
Well, it's here.
OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra this week.
The headline stat is wild.
It beat average HUMAN efficiency on ARC-AGI-3.
That's the benchmark specifically designed to resist memorization and test real reasoning.
36 million views in nine hours.
The internet lost its mind.
And then something happened that proves everything I've been telling you.
Two different benchmark trackers scored it.
One ranked it the smartest model on Earth.
The other says it TRAILS Claude Fable 5.1.
Same model.
Same week.
Opposite verdicts.
Read that again.
The people whose entire job is measuring these things can't agree on launch day.
So what does that tell you about the "GPT-6 crushes everything" posts flooding your feed right now?
They're guessing.
Loudly.
Here's what you do instead, and it hasn't changed.
Run the six checks.
Model ID and availability.
Context window.
Pricing.
Speed and rate limits.
Coding and agent performance on YOUR tasks.
Migration and compatibility.
Then test it on work you already do.
Same prompts. Same quality bar. Same cost limits.
Move only the work where it clearly wins.
The launch-day rebuilders will lose a week rearranging their stack around a leaderboard that's already being argued about.
You'll upgrade when it actually pays.
One more thing worth flagging.
François Chollet, who created the ARC benchmark, now predicts AGI arrives twice as fast as he previously expected.
The guy who built the test to stump AI just moved his timeline up.
Take that seriously. π«‘
Did You Know?
ARC-AGI was created in 2019 as a test AI was supposed to be terrible at...
Simple visual puzzles a child solves easily, but that can't be memorized from training data.
For years, models scored near zero on it.
Now the newest one scores higher than the average human.
The test built to prove AI couldn't reason just got passed. π§©

Lead triage 83% faster
Five hours saved per week with automated updates

Three more to close the week:
1. Nvidia is officially buying Hugging Face.
The $12.9 billion deal is confirmed, no more "reportedly."
The company that sells the shovels now owns the general store.
Expect the open-source AI world to feel very different in a year. πͺ
2. 40% of Americans have already been hit by an AI scam.
Credit One Bank reports four in ten US consumers have faced AI-driven financial scams targeting their money.
Deepfake voices. Fake invoices. Cloned family members asking for cash.
If you haven't set a family code word for money requests yet, this is your sign. π
3. Broadcom says its AI sales will double. Then double again.
Next year, and the year after.
Another shovel seller telling you the demand is real. π
πMeme of the Day

Because GPT-6 dropped and the leaderboards immediately started fighting. πΏ
Over to You...
Go run the six checks before you touch your stack...
Then enjoy the weekend while everyone else panics. π₯
